When traveling around with your family it’s always nice to find those cool hidden gems, and that’s just what Dark Sky RV and Campground is. This place is the Four Seasons of RV/Campsites, which is located in beautiful Kanab UT. You have unobstructed view of the Red Cliffs and the Vermilion Cliffs. Every slip has full hook ups and the WI-Fi is amazing for you remote workers. You can even rent gas fire pits for your site which is awesome (you cannot burn wood here). They’re a bit pricey, but I promise it’s worth it. I also can’t say enough about how wonderful the hosts and amenities are!
Amenities
Speaking of amenities lets get to it. First and fore most I have to talk about the bathrooms, YES I said it the bathrooms, they are amazing. You feel like you just stepped into a spa with the heated tile floors and the wonderful walk in shower. If you so choose you can shower inside or out which is nice on those warm summer nights.
At Dark Sky you also have two sets of washer and dryers at you disposal. They’ve made it easy to pay as well. You can just shoot them a Venmo payment after each use so no more digging for change. While you wait for your laundry you can hang out in their cool outdoor lounge area and enjoy coffee or tea from their coffee bar. Or what I like to do, is go mix myself up a cocktail at our site and sit back and relax. There is also have a really cool dig pit for the kids that we loved going to everyday. They burry little dinosaurs and other knick knacks for the kiddos to find, which keeps the kids busy for quite some time. I also used dig pit time as “margarita time” and I never once was bothered because the kids were so busy.
WIFI
Now for you remote workers, as I mentioned above, Dark Sky has awesome fiber optic WiFi which makes this an ideal place to set up your mobile office and get to work. Now if your traveling around like us, trying to juggle meetings and homeschooling Dark Sky also has a little office/room you can rent out if you need some piece and quite (which comes in handy if you’re presenting and don’t want your kids screaming in the background).
Where to Eat
If you feel like going out to eat because your sick of eating camp food Kanab has great restaurants. We ate at The Wild Thyme and the food did not disappoint ( I recommend any of their bowls or their lasagna). We also really enjoyed The Rocking V Cafe, we liked it so much we ate there twice! The Rocking V has some really cool art work for sale so it’s fun to look around after you eat.
This is so cool Shannon! As we get ready to retire we are exploring places and also enjoy road trips. Nice to know this place exists! Putting it in my notes. PS love your blog!
I highly recommend staying here!
Great shots Shanners. It really gives us a good idea of what Dark Sky and Kanab have to offer. Well done. I’m living vicariously through your blog. Safe travels!!
